Interactive Learning Activities     - Peter Wickham

Stephen Krashen's constant themes in language learning are "Low anxiety" and "High interest" where the affect is positive, and "authentic communication" where communication is personally meaningful.
The following activities for the ESL classroom are ideal for providing such meaningful interaction. At times you as the ESL teacher/facilitator will find it necessary to debrief students after these activities after they become so involved in the personal contact of the situation.

Some of these activities require an hour or more of available time, but they can all be downsized for a more moderate timeframe when required. Either way you will find that your students of any age can enjoy the interaction in English and learn the language incidentally when the teacher facilitates learning.
